Acupuncture is a time honored medicine.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive natural health care system that has been used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses for thousands of years. Doctors of Chinese Medicine are trained in the ancient art of Acupuncture. It is based on a concept of vital energy, or Qi (pronounced “chee”), that flows throughout the body and regulates a person’s emotional and physical balance. Each organ system is dependent on the next for optimal health. Problems in Qi flow can create stagnation (energy that is stuck or moving too slow) or excess (energy that is moving too quickly). This can create pain or disease in the body.
In Acupuncture fine, hair-thin needles are gently inserted into meridian points along the body to redirect the Qi to optimal patterns of energy flow. This action stimulates the movement of pain-decreasing bio-chemicals, increases the immune response to the specific site in the body that is injured or vulnerable to disease, and tonifies the Qi to better support the body’s innate healing abilities. This allows the organ or muscle to return to harmony and the pain and disease disappear. Patients think it’s magic! We know it’s a marriage of ancient wisdom, modern science and the art of the practitioner.
