Dr. Marie Marler Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Marie first encountered chiropractic care while living in Japan and was immediately captivated by the healing technique. Upon returning to the US, she enrolled in the University of Western States to receive her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Prior to that, she earned a BS in biochemistry from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Pharmacology from Georgetown University. Learning about pharmaceuticals led to a passion for natural and preventive healthcare whenever possible. She then pivoted her focus and moved to Portland, Oregon for chiropractic school and never left after falling in love with her now husband and the Pacific Northwest itself.
During her undergraduate years Dr. Marie struggled with chronic pain and fibromyalgia. The chiropractor in Japan helped her overcome her chronic joint pain in conjunction with medication which eventually led her to follow that career path. She is passionate about helping people recover from acute and chronic pain so they can improve their quality of life and be more active. When treating, Dr. Marie focuses on each individual patient’s needs and has developed a variety of skills to help. Dr. Marie is experienced with manual diversified chiropractic adjustments, drop table, activator, and soft tissue manual or instrument assisted massage. Where appropriate, she prescribes exercise therapy and recommends ergonomic and lifestyle changes.
When not treating patients, Dr. Marie is the mother of three children including a set of twins. She loves board games and cooking with her husband and going swimming with her children. As her kids get bigger, she is looking forward to exploring, hiking, and camping as a family.
